Dissecting Lolita

7.00

This is a 182-page analysis of the writing techniques Vladimir Nabokov uses in his masterpiece Lolita. It should be read alongside Lolita, but not the first time you read it. You should have read Lolita before following this analysis.

As the subtitle states, it is a writer's dissection of the novel. That is to say, it is not the sort of analysis you would expect in an English class discussing symbols and motifs, morals and meanings. My analysis is written not with the average reader or literature student in mind, but the aspiring writer. My intention is to focus purely on the artistry of the work, to take it apart and learn better how its skeleton, muscles, sinews, skin, and teeth operate as a seamless and sublime whole.
